Kyiv, militia to exchange 36 prisoners each on Tuesday - DPR first deputy PM
DONETSK. Sept 9 (Interfax) - The first exchange of prisoners between Kyiv and the Donbas militia since the Minsk protocol was concluded will take place on September 9, First Deputy Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Andrei Purgin told Interfax.
"The first exchange of prisoners after the Minsk protocol was concluded will take place today - 36 people each from our side and from Kyiv," Purgin said.
Purgin has denied Ukrainian president's spokesman Svyatoslav Tsegolko's statement that militia had already released 648 Ukrainian servicemen from captivity.
"This is not the case," Purgin said.
Mass prisoners exchange has not been organized so far because of Kyiv, Purgin said. "This is a very difficult and time-consuming process. But of course, we will seek to exchange prisoners with Kyiv eventually under the 'all for all' formula," he said.
