Inter RAO to repair power plant unit in Bangladesh for $30 mln
MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - LLC Inter RAO Engineering has signed a $29.9 million contract with the Bangladesh Power Development Board to overhaul the 210-MW No. 5 unit at the Ghorashal thermal power plant in Bangladesh, the Russian company said in a statement.
Under the terms of the tender, Inter RAO will provide a complete package of services on turn-key terms to repair the steam turbine, generator and boiler unit, including the supply of spare parts for core and auxiliary equipment, and commissioning. The work is supposed to be completed within 18 months.
Ghorashal TPP, the largest state thermal power plant in Bangladesh with total capacity of 950 MW, is located northeast of the capital Dhaka. The plant, built by Soviet engineers in the 1970s and 1980s, runs on natural gas. The overhaul of the plant was previously being handled by VO Technopromexport.
