Lukoil chief estimates Rakushechnaya reserves at 15 mln tonnes
ASTRAKHAN. Sept 9 (Interfax) - The second well drilled at the Rakushechnaya structure in the northern Caspian, has yielded oil, Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov told journalists.
"Our geologists have chosen a successful spot. We are planning to drill another well next year with the aim of clarifying the outline of the field," he said.
"According to the preliminary data that we have now, there are 15 million-16 million tonnes of recoverable oil at the structure. These are commercial reserves that will allow for the inclusion of Rakushechnoye in the infrastructure at the Filanovsky field," the company head said.
He said the Filanovsky field is anchor field that allows for connecting with satellite fields containing smaller reserves.
Lukoil discovered the Filanovsky field in 2005. The field contains C1+C2 recoverable reserves of 153.1 million tonnes of oil and 32.2 billion cubic meters of gas. The field should go on stream in 2016.
