Ukrainian prosecutors investigate volunteer battalions' crimes against Donbas civilians

KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office is investigating crimes committed by volunteer battalion servicemen against the civilian population in eastern Ukraine, Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema said.

"We have facts and we are holding criminal inquiries into felonies perpetrated by members of volunteer battalions against the civilian population," he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.

The prosecutor general said he was speaking about assaults and robberies.

"The Military Prosecutor's Office is dealing with these issues," the prosecutor general said.
