Russia to do everything for peace in Ukraine, including implementing Putin peace plan - Medvedev
MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - It is possible to stop the tragedy in Ukraine, including by implementing the plan proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Russia will do everything depending on it to preserve peace, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.
"We need Ukraine to have peace and everyone residing there to live under a peaceful sky. This is essential. And I think that our country should do everything depending on it in order to achieve this goal," Medvedev said at a meeting with the United Russia party members and candidates running for deputies of regional legislative assemblies.
"The vital thing is to stop the awful tragedy, the difficult tragedy, which occurred there," Medvedev said. "It seems to me that this can be done, including following Russia, proposals, the peace plan, which has recently been announced by the president," he said.
