Two militants killed in Dagestan - NAC

MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax) - Two members of the insurgency who started skirmishes with police officers have been killed in Dagestan's Tabasaransky district, according to the National Antiterrorist Center (NAC).

"The active search operation conducted by law enforcement forces in the mountainous and wooded area near the villages of Uzul and Khuzhni has led to the discovery of two armed militants who opened fire at the law enforcement officers and then tried to escape. A brief battle ensued, during which both were neutralized," the NAC said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Thursday.
