Average voter turnout 46.25% in gubernatorial election, 12% higher than last year - Central Elections Commission

MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - The average voter turnout in this year's gubernatorial election was 12% higher than last year, Russian Central Elections Commission Deputy Chairman Leonid Ivlev said.

"The average voter turnout stood at 46.25%, which was 12% higher than the turnout in the gubernatorial elections last year," Ivlev said at the Central Elections Commission as he was summing up results of September 14's unified voting day.

He pointed out that the gubernatorial elections had only one round.
