Putin, Security Council discussed situation with settlement of crisis in Ukraine - Peskov

MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin hashad a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Monday, presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"The meeting addressed the peaceful resolution of the crisis in south-eastern Ukraine, including with emphasis on humanitarian aspects," he said.

"The meeting participants also exchanged opinions in the context of the contacts between Russian, EU and Ukrainian officials on the potential negative consequences of the enactment of the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU for the Russian and Ukrainian economies," Peskov said.

Among the meeting participants were Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Kremlin administration chief Sergei Ivanov, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, and Boris Gryzlov, permanent member of the Security Council.
