DPR planning to have kids at desks from October 1
DONETSK. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is preparing for a new school year and planning to begin the academic process from October 1, DPR education minister Igor Kostenyuk said.
"We are now addressing the issue of distributing students around the schools that remain intact. Efforts are underway to develop a two-shift academic process. At the same time, we are resolving the issue of student transport. Many transport firms which specialize in this are ready to provide buses further," Kostenyuk told reporters on Thursday.
The main problem in restoring the academic process is artillery shelling by the Ukrainian army, and "for the school year to begin the line of hostilities must be moved at least 30 kilometers away from DPR cities," the DPR education minister said.
