Gold in Central Bank of Russia reserves up nearly 1% to 35.8 mln oz in August

MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia had 35.8 million Troy ounces (1.114 tonnes) of gold in its reserves as of September 1, 2014, up 0.85% from 35.5 million oz (1.104 tonnes) at the beginning of August, the Central Bank said on its web site.

The gold reserves fell 0.3% in value to $46 billion in August or 9.9% of the total reserves on September 1, compared with 9.8% on August 1.

Gold reserves grew 7.5% during January-August 2014, from 33.3 million oz (1,036 tonnes) on January 1. The reserves grew nearly 15% in value, from $39.99 billion on January 1.
