Donetsk city administration reports civilian casualty

KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax) - A civilian was killed in a series of artillery attacks on Donetsk on Monday evening. All was quiet in the city during the night, the city administration press service reported on Tuesday.

Artillery hit the Kyivskyi and Kuibyshevskyi districts of the city. Shells damaged trunk gas pipelines in the direct proximity to the Donetsk airport, on Stratonavtov and Vzletna Streets, the press service said.

Gas pipes were also damaged on Pressy, Shchedryna and Utkyna Streets in the Kuibyshevsky district of the city.

Residential buildings in the Kyivskyi district again came under artillery fire at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Monday. The bombardments sparked a fire.

There was one civilian casualty. "A young man was mortally wounded at the intersection of Artemovska and Svobody Streets," the report said.

All was quiet in Donetsk as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. There were no incident reports from city districts. Public utility services were working normally and public transportation service was good.
