MOSCOW. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Militiamen of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have withdrawn artillery from the line of engagement in accordance with the Minsk memorandum, a spokesman for the "Novorossiya" army headquarters told Interfax on Tuesday.

"Militia units, acting in compliance with the existing agreements, have pulled back artillery weapons from the line of contact," the spokesman said.

Ukrainian government forces violated the ceasefire on four occasions last night.

An artillery strike was launched against the militia's positions in the village of Rassypne at 7:10 p.m. on September 22, killing one person and injuring another two.

In a separate development, the Ukrainian side opened fire on the village of Nova Marevka at 8:05 p.m.

"A residential building was damaged. A local resident was killed by shrapnel from a mortar shell. His wife was injured," the spokesman said.

Grad rocket systems were used against residential areas in the Leninskiy district of Donetsk, injuring four people, among them a young child.

At 8:40 p.m., the Ukrainian army opened intense artillery and mortar fire on militia forces' positions in the town of Kirovske. One militiaman was injured.
