FAS allows Spring structure to buy 2 power plants from Quadra

MOSCOW. Sept 23 (Interfax) - The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has given permission to Spring funds structure - OJSC KKS Group to buy LLC Klintsovskaya CHPP and LLC Dorogobuzhskaya CHPP.

The power plants belong to OJSC Quadra , which is controlled by Mikhail Prokhorov's group Onexim.

Quadra put the plants up for tender earlier. The starting price for the first power plant was 32.98 million rubles and the starting price for the second was 45.8 million rubles. The plants will be sold together with receivables of 20 million and 36 million rubles, respectively

The EBRD and IFC are also shareholders of KKS Group.

Dorogobuzhskaya CHPP is in Smolensk region and has capacity of 137 megawatts for electricity and 442.2 gigacalories/hour for thermal energy. It was built in 1957. The Klintsovskaya plant is in the town of Klintsy in Bryansk region and has capacity of 12 megawatts for electricity and 165.8 gigacalories/hour for thermal energy. It was built in 1937. The plants are powered by gas.

Quadra's majority shareholder - Onexim, has tried to sell its stake in the company various times without success. Gazprom Energoholding wanted the asset and a deal was reached but the buyer could not get approval from FAS. Later, information appeared indicating that EdF and OJSC Inter RAO were interested in Quadra.
