Occasional volleys of gunfire heard in Donetsk - city council

KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Occasional volleys of gunfire and explosions had been audible in the Kuibyshevskyi, Kyivskyi, Leninskyi, Kirovskyi and Petrovskyi districts of Donetsk at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the city council said on its website.

That did not stop the efforts by emergency brigades from DonetskOblEnergo (DonetskRegionEnergy) and DTEK Energougol to repair and replace the damaged overhead power lines on Tuesday. "Power supplied to 200 properties in the village of Oktyabrskyi in the Kuibyshevskyi district. Power supplies into the village have thus been restored in full. Also, 60 properties were reconnected in the Privokzalny micro-district of the Kuibyshevsky district after losing power on the morning of September 23 as a result of an emergency breakdown at a substation. Furthermore, power supplies have been restored in the village of the Coal Mine N11 in the Petrovskyi district," the statement said.

Also, efforts to repair gas pipelines continued this afternoon, the city council said. Nevertheless, 28 businesses and 988 households, including private-sector houses in Donetsk remain without natural gas.
