Over 1,000 majority-election candidates already registered by Ukraine's CEC
KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered another 394 majority-election candidates for the parliamentary elections due on October 26.
On Tuesday, the CEC registered 301 party-nominated candidates in majority constituencies and 93 independents.
The former includes 179 candidates in majority constituencies from Batkivshchyna Party, 118 from People's Front, three from Sirius Party and one from the People's Movement of Ukraine.
The total number of candidates registered by Tuesday is 1,070, including 474 nominated by parties and 596 independents.
