Gazprom creates transport organizer for gas sold on exchange
MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Gazprom has created LLC Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Postavka to organize the transport of gas sold on the exchange, St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) Vice President Mikhail Temnichenko said at a meeting with the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) to discuss the start of gas trading.
According to the SPARK-Interfax database, Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Deputy Director Igor Dmitriyev will head the company. Dmitriyev is also the deputy chief of Gazprom's Gas and Liquid Hydrocarbons Marketing and Processing Department.
The main functions of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Postavka will be sending data to the exchange on restrictions in the gas transport system, as well as a calculation for the cost of transportation services. The company will also organize shipments and keep track of whether a deal was or was not made.
The shipments organizer will therefore coordinate deals that take place on the exchange as concerns shipping gas with the gas transport system. As a result, each deal that takes place on the exchange will also be provided with transportation services, as well as tariff calculation, Temnichenko said.
