Poroshenko rules out peacekeeping troops in east Ukraine
KYIV. Sept 25 (Interfax) - There will be no peacekeepers in the Donbas region, said Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko.
"There will be no peacekeeping troops because the experience of using peacekeepers in Transdniestria and other frozen conflicts has led to states losing sovereignty over such territories. There will be no peacekeepers in Ukraine," Poroshenko told a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
He was responding to a question where there is any sense in considering introducing peacekeeping troops in Donbas.
