Lavrov "cautiously optimistic" over Iran's nuclear problem
NEW YORK. Sept 27 (Interfax) - The drafting of the agreement over Iran's nuclear problem is nearing completion, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"I remain cautiously optimistic. We are very close, if you consider the amount of work that has been done on the text, the remaining small sections are most difficult, as they say, the devil is in the detail," Lavrov said at a briefing in the UN.
"The sensation is that all participants in this process are keen on its results," the minister said. "We have time before November 24 - the deadlines set by the negotiating teams. And we will do everything to ensure the remaining small but essentially very important issues are resolved in a mutually acceptable fashion," the minister said.
