Ukrainian exports to Customs Union drop a third, exports to EU up 15% - ministry
KYIV. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Ukrainian exports to Customs Union member countries dropped 30% in the first eight months of this year, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
"Our exports to Customs Union countries have declined 30% on average," Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Ukrainian exports to EU countries grew 15% in the same period, she added.
Speaking of Russian imports, the deputy minister said they had fallen, mostly because of lesser energy supplies.
The Ukrainian government is drawing up a package of countermeasures, which will protect the domestic market amid the current situation in trade with Russia, Zerkal said.
