Putin to chair Russian Security Council meeting on information security
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will chair a meeting of the Russian Security Council in the Kremlin on Wednesday to address the deterrence of threats to national information security, the Kremlin press service said.
"The Russian Security Council will discuss ways to actualize approaches to the fulfillment of the main tasks, set in the National Security Strategy and in the Information Security Doctrine, with due account taken of the fast-growing information and communication technologies in the world," it reported.
"The agenda will include not only methods for maintaining the security of official information resources of government bodies of various levels, but also the stable performance of the Russian segment of the Internet, excluding any curbs on citizens' and organizations' free access to it," the Kremlin said.
In addition, Putin will meet with directors of regional history museums on October 1 to discuss ways to promote regional history research and regional history museums as such as easily accessible research and educational centers.
The meeting will be attended by Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky, Kremlin aide Vladimir Tolstoy and Russian Culture Foundation President Nikita Mikhalkov, the Kremlin said.
