Norilsk Nickel considering projects for construction of Taimyr gas condensate plant
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - MMC Norilsk Nickel has begun accepting applications from specialized contractors for their participation in a tender for pre-design work for the construction of a gas condensate processing plant in the Norilsk industrial region, the Arctic mining and smelting giant said.
Norilsk Nickel is currently developing four fields in the region: Pelyatkinskoye, Severo-Soleninskoye, Yuzhno-Soleninskoye and Messoyakhskoye. Norilsk Nickel is studying the possibility of stabilizing and processing gas condensate close to the fields. The company "is ready to review design proposals for such a project including information on indicated cost and scope of work," the statement said.
Norilsk Nickel did not specify the possible size of investments in the project or the timeline for its possible implementation in the event of making such a decision. An investment decision will be made after studying feasibility studies by the candidates.
The pre-design documents on Norilsk Nickel's website said the main goal of the project is to increase the reliability of petroleum product provisions and increase profitability by generating revenue from additional technologies for processing gas condensate. The feasibility study should assess two options: stabilizing gas condensate, and processing gas condensate into saleable petroleum products.
Applications for participating in the procurement procedure are being accepted until October 13, and work should be ready by February 28, 2015.
