Putin orders networks to increase protection of information resources used by gov. agencies
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered to increase protection for Russian communications networks and information resources used by government agencies and to prevent leaks of confidential information.
"We need to substantially increase the protection of our own communications networks and information resources, primarily those used by government agencies. We should aim to exclude unlawful interference with their work, as well as leaks of personal and confidential information," Putin told the Russian Security Council.
Protecting Russia's information space against contemporary threats is currently one of the priorities in our effort to ensure national security, said Putin.
"The reliable work of information resources, control and communication systems are of exceptional significance for our country's defensive capability, for sustained development of our economy and social sector, for protecting Russia's sovereignty in the broadest sense of this word," the president said.
