Donetsk militia claims to control 90% of Donetsk airport territory
DONETSK. Oct 2 (Interfax) - The militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) currently control 90% of the territory of Donetsk airport and plan to have it fully under their control by the end of the week, DPR Prime Minister Oleksandr Zakharchenko said.
"The Donetsk airport will be to our control in two or three days at most," Zakharchenko told journalists on Wednesday.
"We can say today that we control 90% of the airport's territory," Zakharchenko said.
Both Ukrainian security forces and militias reported on Tuesday that combat operations in the Donetsk airport area had intensified.
