NSDC: Trilateral observer teams formed in Donbas, have yet to start working

KYIV. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Trilateral clearing groups of observers have been formed in Donbas consistent with the decisions the Contact Group made in Minsk on September 5.

"The formation of trilateral clearing groups of observers is over in Donbas. The observers will be unarmed; they will be carrying an identification mark, a white band with printed letters OM [observation mission]," Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Information Analysis Center speaker Andriy Lysenko said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

The groups will soon be deployed in sectors marked with the OSCE flag to collect and summarize information and report violations of the Minsk memorandum in the established procedure.

"The groups have not begun their work because they are lacking consent of the armed units, which are still violating the ceasefire regime," Lysenko said.
