Belarus to bring civil suits to case against Baumgertner in Moscow

MINSK. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Belarus has organized civil lawsuits concerning the "potash case" against former Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner and will announce them in court, Belarusian Prosecutor General Alexander Konyuk told journalists in Moscow on Thursday.

"Civil suits have been set. Nothing has changed for them yet, but we will announce them in court in the Baumgertner case if such a [case] takes place," he said.

Asked who would announce these lawsuits in court, Konyuk said: "This could be employees from the Prosecutor General's Office or the Investigative Committee of Belarus." This will likely be representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, however, he said.
