Over 20 kg of heroin seized in Rostov, Voronezh regions

VORONEZH. Oct 3 (Interfax) - The police have caught a group dealing drugs in the Rostov and Voronezh regions, the information and public relations unit of the Federal Drug Control Service department in the Voronezh region said on Friday.

"At the end [of a lengthy operation] 15 group members were apprehended in two regions and more than 20 kilograms of heroin were impounded, including 8.5 kilograms in Voronezh," the report said.

Tajik citizens controlled group members that dealt drugs in Voronezh and Rostov-on-Don.

Heroin was smuggled from Tajikistan, diluted with various substances, packed into small batches and sold. Caches were used to deliver the drug to consumers.

Seven criminal inquiries have been opened, and all the suspects have been arrested.
