War no reason not to conduct reforms in Ukraine - Poroshenko

LVIV. Oct 3 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said the war in eastern Ukraine cannot justify the absence of reforms and that issue is addressed in the plan entitled Strategy 2020, which he will present in Lviv on Friday.

During a meeting with cadets of the Lviv Ground Forces Academy, Poroshenko said the strategy takes into account issues relating to the modernization of the Armed Forces and national security issues.

"A plan proposing to considerably increase the defense potential of the state and boost the effectiveness of our armed forces and defense structures and make them well-equipped, armed and highly mobile will be submitted to the parliament before the end of this year," Poroshenko said.

After visiting the Ground Forces Academy, the president intends to meet with the Lviv public in the Lviv National University and present the Strategy 2020 program there.
