Russian Black Sea Fleet to get six submarines by end of '16 - commander
ST. PETERSBURG. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Six submarines are due to be put in service in Russia's Black Sea Fleet before the end of 2016 under the navy development program, the fleet commander said on Saturday.
"We have already accepted one of the submarines into the fleet," Viktor Chirkov told reporters at a naval engineering graduate college in Pushkin, outside St. Petersburg.
"We are also having six escort ships built for the Black Sea Fleet, one of which will be put to sea this year for state trials," he said.
