Casualties reported as Donetsk shelled again - City Council
KYIV. Oct 7 (Interfax) - The situation was extremely serious in Donetsk as of 2 p.m. local time (3 p.m. Moscow time) with shells targeting the city's Kiyevsky district.
"Reports are arriving that residential buildings in the northern sector of the city were destroyed or caught fire. According to unconfirmed reports, the attacks led to civilian casualties. These reports are being verified," the City Council said.
Electric power lines were damaged at a substation of the rolling mill in the Kiyevsky district. The emergency led to electricity blackouts, including at the Donetsk city water supply company, Donetskgorvodokanal. Water supplies to the Kiyevsky district were suspended pending repairs.
