DPR: UN report on situation in Donbas not objective
MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - The administration of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic has accused the authors of the UN report on the situation in Donbas of bias.
"Apparently, those who made the report were biased against the militia. The report was most likely made under pressure from stereotypes. It is sad that such large international institutions are so far from objectivity about us," Miroslav Rudenko, deputy speaker of the Supreme Council of the Donetsk People's Republic, told Interfax.
"The report is not fully objective about the militia's actions," Rudenko said.
"Obviously, the authors of the report could have been under pressure from external political forces, including the United States, which led to the demonization of the militia in the report," he said.
Some media previously published the provisions of the report issued by the UN high commissioner on human rights on the situation in Ukraine.
The report criticizes both parties to the conflict, including the militia, who the authors of the report believe are involved in terrorizing districts under their control, murder, kidnapping, torture, violence, destroying housing and taking over property.
