Russian Foreign Ministry calls Bulgarian president's statements on Russia "unacceptable rhetoric"
MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russia considers the statements made by Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, who has called Russia a nationalist and aggressive state, to be rhetoric that is unacceptable for a president, Russian Foreign Ministry official Alexander Lukashevich said.
"Such statements, of course, cause serious concern," he told a briefing in Moscow.
"It is very sad that by repeating ungrounded statements on the so-called annexation of Crimea and attempts at dictate to Ukraine, the president uses unacceptable rhetoric to suit pro-Western interests, which ignore the reality and ruin the centuries-old traditions of friendship and cooperation between the brotherly peoples of Russia and Bulgaria," the Russian diplomat said.
