Churkin: UNSC draft resolution on Palestinian state may be put to vote on Oct 21, Russia intends to back it

MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - The establishment of a Palestinian state may be put to a vote at the UN Security Council on October 21, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said.

"If this issue is to put to a vote, we will support it. There have been suppositions that it may be put to a vote already on October 21 but this issue holds great political importance and the Palestinians have yet to decide whether to put it to a vote and when that may be done," he told Interfax on the margins of the Second MGIMO World Forum.
