Kazakhstan's trade surplus widens 11.8% in 8M

ALMATY. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's trade surplus widened 11.8% year-on-year in January-August, the State Statistics Committee said.

Foreign trade turnover fell 9.1% year-on-year to $80.4 billion, including exports - $53.9 billion, down 6%, and imports - $26.5 billion, down 14.7%.

Exports to Customs Union countries amounted to $3.323 billion, down 20.4%, and imports to $9.112 billion, down 22.2%.

The main importers of goods from Kazakhstan were Italy (21.6% of all exports), China (13.1%) and the Netherlands (11.2%). The main exporters to Kazakhstan were Russia (32.9%), China (17.7%) and Germany (5.6%).
