Central Bank shifts corridor boundaries another 10 kopecks to 36.35-45.35 rubles
MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia has shifted the ruble's trading corridor boundaries up by another 10 kopecks.
The corridor was 36.35-45.35 rubles as of October 13, the Central Bank said on its website
This is the seventh time this month the Central Bank has shifted the boundaries. It shifted them up 10 kopecks on Monday, October 6 and Friday, October 3, and 5 kopecks on October 7, 20 kopecks on October 8, 15 kopecks on October 9 and 25 kopecks on October 10. In other words, the Central Bank has shifted the corridor boundaries 95 kopecks so far this month.
Prior to October 3, the Central Bank had not previously shifted the corridor boundaries since widening the corridor from 7 rubles to 9 rubles on August 18. At the time, the Central Bank also set FX intervention volumes aimed at smoothing the volatility of the ruble exchange rate at a level equal to $0 million in the internal ranges of the floating operational band; and decreased the cumulative volume of FX interventions, which lead to the shift of the floating operational band's borders by 5 kopecks, to $350 million.
The Central Bank last shifted the trading corridor boundaries at the beginning of May.
