P5+1 acting based on common position in negotiations with Iran - Russian diplomat

MOSCOW/VIENNA. Oct 16 (Interfax) - The P5+1 group of world powers negotiating with Iran on settling the problem of its nuclear program is acting based on a common position, although positions of each of its participants have their own nuances, says Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"I am willing to confirm that the Group of Six acts from common positions, as it is bound by a common mission and a common goal of finding an acceptable solution to the problem, which has been seriously burdening international relations and complicating the situation for a long time," Ryabkov said in a telephone interview with Interfax from Vienna.

"In acting this way and seeking to achieve the result, the Russian side is being guided exclusively by its own national interests. I should also stress that the position of each participant in the Sextet has national specifics and differences, and there are significant nuances and even very serious aspects that distinguish this country's position from those of other members of the Sextet," Ryabkov said.
