Ukraine digs over 60 km of anti-tank ditches on border with Russia

KYIV. Oct 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian State Border Service has built over 200 watchtowers and is digging anti-tank ditches and installing other fortifications along the Russian border, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) said.

"The Ukrainian State Border Service has dug 62 kilometers of anti-tank ditches, built 50 kilometers of other fortifications, restored 750 kilometers of a control belt, and constructed trenches, dugouts and roadblocks," NSDC Information Analysis Center speaker Andriy Lysenko said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

He said similar measures had been taken along the border with Crimea.
