Policeman killed in shootout in Kabardino-Balkaria
NALCHIK. Oct 20 (Interfax) - A police detail came under fire while attempting to stop a suspicious-looking vehicle in Nalchik. One officer was killed and another was injured, the Kabardino-Balkaria Interior Ministry press service said on Sunday.
"Reportedly, a traffic police detail tried to stop a Honda in the city of Nalchik at about 10 p.m. on Saturday; a criminal riding in the car fired at the police. One officer was killed and another one suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital," the report said.
The police returned fire and shot and killed the assailant, the report added.
