Ukrainian industry plummets 16.6% in Sept
KYIV. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Industrial output in Ukraine plummeted 16.6% year-on-year in September, the State Statistics Service said.
Industry declined by 21.4% in August, 12.1% in July, 5% in June and 2.1% in May.
In the Donetsk region, industrial production fell by 59.5% in September (58.7% in August) and in Luhansk region it collapsed by 85% (85% in August also), although the figures for both regions will be adjusted.
Ukrainian industry fell 8.6% year-on-year in January-September, 7.8% in the first eight months and 5.8% in the first seven months of the year. It fell 4.8% in January-September 2013.
In September compared to August this year, industrial production grew by 4.9%.
Industry fell 4.7% in 2013 and 0.5% in 2012.
