Ukrainian premier hopes for prompt formation of new coalition and govt after election
KYIV. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has expressed hope that Sunday early parliamentary election will be fair and result in the change of approaches of new politicians to governing the country.
"What do I expect of the election? Real changes both in the political class and in its approaches to the nation, responsibility and realization of what millions of Ukrainians are waiting for," Yatsenyuk told reporters after casting his vote at a polling station in Kyiv.
He again expressed confidence in the speedy formation of a coalition and government after the election.
He also voiced hope that "the election will at least partially conform with the democratic standards as we need to move to Europe."
"We are looking forward to election returns, we are looking forward to the election day, we are looking forward for the election night, namely the ballot-counting because this will be decisive for saying what this election process was like, how fair it was. As the entire election campaign was complex, to put I mildly," Yatsenyuk said.
