Lawyers for Vnukovo air traffic controller contest his arrest
MOSCOW. Oct 27 (Interfax) - The defense lawyers have contested the arrest of Alexander Kruglov, an air traffic controller, who is a suspect in the case involving the Falcon crash at the Vnukovo airport.
"We have filed an appeal contesting the Basmanny Court decision," Valery Vychkin, a lawyer for Kruglov, told Interfax on Monday.
According to earlier reports, the Basmanny Court put Kruglov under arrest until December 21 on Friday. The defense lawyers had asked for him not to be put under arrest or, to be released on bail.
On October 24, the court put under house arrest until December 21 Roman Dunayev, flight operator at the Vnukovo airport, and trainee air traffic controller Svetlana Krivsun. Vladimir Ledenev, chief aerodrome service engineer, was put into custody until December 21.
Vladimir Martynenko, the driver of the snowplow with which the plane collided, was earlier arrested until December 21. His defense lawyers have filed an appeal against the decision.
A Falcon plane collided with a snowplow during takeoff at the Moscow airport Vnukovo in the early hours of October 21. The crash killed all four people aboard the plane, including French oil company Total CEO Christophe de Margerie.
