Pick-up points may open at MTS stores for Detsky Mir orders

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russian cellular provider OJSC Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and retailer Detsky Mir , both controlled by AFK Sistema , are discussing the possibility of opening pick-up points for Detsky Mir orders at MTS stores.

By the end of 2015, pick-up points may open at all MTS single-brand stores, Arvidas Alutis, who is the general director of MTS' retail chain, said at the Retail 2014 Points of Growth conference.

Detsky Mir CEO Vladimir Chirakhov told Interfax that the project was currently being discussed. He added that in October the retailer began shipping orders made on Detsky Mir's website for pickup at locations of online retailer Ozon. "The service is popular among buyers and is in high demand," he said.

As reported, MTS began opening zones at its own single-brand stores where customers could pay for and pick up goods bought on Ozon. By the end of 2015, the internet retailer's zones should arise at all MTS sales offices.

In April, MTS, together with AFK Sistema, acquired 21.64% of Ozon for $150 million. Sistema's Alexander Gorbunov and MTS' Vasil Latsanich joined Ozon's board of directors.
