Kyiv not notified by Moscow of plans to send another humanitarian convoy to Donbas

KYIV. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russia has not notified Ukraine of its intention to send another humanitarian convoy to Donbas, Ukrainian Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.

"Ukraine has not received any official information and any official document on this account," Lysenko said at a news conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reported earlier that it would send its fourth convoy of 50 automobiles carrying humanitarian aid to Donetsk and Luhansk from Noginsk, the Moscow region, on Tuesday.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it is not involved in the organization of this convoy but is aware of the plans and welcomes any assistance from any side to Donbas, where people are in a difficult situation and do need such aid.

Russia had earlier sent three humanitarian convoys to Donbas, which arrived there on August 22 and on September 13 and 20. Ukrainian authorities had no opportunity to inspect the cargo, and the ICRC was not involved in the missions.
