Ukraine refuses to cooperate in Russian journalists murder inquiries - Russian investigators

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Investigative Committee has asked Ukraine eight times to help investigate each war crime committed during the period of fighting in southeastern Ukraine, but it has only received one formal response, Alexander Drymanov, acting director of the committee's department for crimes relating to the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare, said.

"We forwarded eight requests to Kyiv concerning the murders of Russian journalists and civilians in Ukraine. So far, we have received only one response from Ukraine's agencies in charge of these issues, which refused to cooperate with us in legal matters and refused to provide us with any information citing some non-existent reasons," he said at a meeting of the committee for public support of the population in Ukraine's southeastern regions on Thursday.

Nonetheless, the Russian Investigative Committee still hopes to receive answers to all of its requests, he added.
