Gas price for Ukraine in Q4 based on $378.22, Q1 - to be decided in Dec
MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - The actual price of Russian gas for Ukraine turned out to be lower that what was mentioned during negotiations due to the fall in oil prices, Gazprom's spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told Interfax.
"Really, during the several months of negotiations the price of $385 per 1,000 cubic meters was mentioned. This price was calculated half a year ago in accordance with a contract formula on the basis of quoted prices for petroleum products that were accurate at the time. By now the prices for oil and consequently petroleum product prices have fallen. This is reflected in the actual price of gas for the fourth quarter - $378.22," he said.
"We still cannot name an exact price for gas in the first quarter of 2015, because the price formula depends on petroleum product quotes for the previous nine months. Thus, the price of gas for the first quarter of next year could be calculated when we have quotes for petroleum products for November and December," Kupriyanov said.
