NAC: Illegal bomb laboratory destroyed in Kabardino-Balkaria
MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - An illegal bomb laboratory has been destroyed in Chegem-2, Kabardino-Balkaria, and a demolition specialist has been killed, the National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) reported.
"The demolition specialist who was killed had been providing a criminal organization called Vilayat of Kabarda, Balkaria and Karachai, a structural unit of the international terrorist organization Caucasus Emirate, with homemade explosive devices," the NAC said in a statement.
An antiterrorism operation regime was put into place in Chegem-2 on Tuesday. The police blocked a house and evacuated civilians. The militant trapped in the house opened fire on the police.
A source in the republican police told Interfax earlier that a militant had been killed in the antiterrorism operation in Chegem-2.
