Inflation in Kazakhstan at 0.4% in Oct, 6.3% year to date

ALMATY. Nov 5 (Interfax) - The inflation level in Kazakhstan stood at 0.4% in October this year, the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of the National Economy said, citing statistical data.

In October 2014, the prices for food products increased by 0.5%, for non-food items by 0.5% and for services by 0.2%.

The annual inflation rate through the ten months ended October 31, 2014, is at 6.3%, with prices for food climbing by 6.1%, non-food by 7.3% and services by 5.6%.

As reported, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is forecasting inflation in Kazakhstan to be at 6.9% for 2014. The Kazakh government is planning to maintain inflation at 6%-8% this year.

Inflation in Kazakhstan was 4.8% in 2013.
