Putin: certain production chains in MTC disrupted over worsening geopolitical situation
MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin has said that the deteriorating geopolitical situation affects the interests of Russian arms manufacturers but Russia has the potential to cope with the new challenges.
"One cannot help but speak of certain issues that should arouse our special attention in the sphere of MTC [military-technical cooperation]. First of all the general geopolitical situation has deteriorated, of course," Putin said at a session of the commission for MTC.
He said the crisis badly aggravated in the Middle East and North Africa, while a civilian conflict is not settling down in Ukraine, on the very borders of Russia.
"Many cooperation chains have been disrupted, including those with Ukrainian partners, Ukrainian enterprises. To say nothing of unfair business practices on the part of some of our traditional partners in this sphere, the sphere of arms exports, but we encounter such practices almost continuously," he said.
"Russia has every opportunity not only to cope with these challenges but to strengthen its positions," Putin said.
