Russia, India should switch to payments in national currencies - Rogozin

NEW DELHI. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin thinks that Russia and India should stop using other countries' currencies in their economic relationship.

"Together we must work out and think most thoroughly over the creation of a fast, light, articulate mechanism of working with our national currencies," Rogozin told the eighth Russia-India forum on trade and investment on Wednesday.

The economic relations between Russia and India should not depend on other countries, he said.

"We must not depend on the financial ambitions, whims and caprices of other world powers when it comes to the alliance, the union, the shared economic interests of Russia and India," Rogozin added.
