OSCE says militia controls Ukrainian-Russian border in Mariupol area
NOVOAZOVSK. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The militia is controlling the Novoazovsk sector of the Ukrainian-Russian border, according to OSCE monitors.
Deputy head of the OSCE special monitoring mission Alexander Hug said that area and the road to Mariupol had been under the militia's control.
He noted that the OSCE monitors were entitled to visual control over the border.
The border control debate has just begun. The mission does the monitoring consistent with its mandate. But, at some point, the monitors will control the situation, including that on the border, in line with the fourth provision of the agreement reached at the September meeting in Minsk, Hug added.
