Yuan settlements with Russia could boost Chinese currency's regional role - Peskov
BEIJING. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have discussed prospects of introducing Yuan settlements in various sectors, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Serious attention was given to Yuan settlements in various sectors, including such sensitive ones as military-technical cooperation, which is expected to increase the Yuan's role as a regional reserve currency," he said.
Peskov also said that Putin had presented a gift to the Chinese leader - a Russian-made smartphone, Yotaphone-2, with Russian, Chinese and APEC symbols uploaded.
